Description

Bevel is a rapidly growing bicoastal consultancy, looking to hire a Director in our Miami office to take on a senior leadership role at the Firm. Clients Bevel decides to take on are category leaders in venture capital, tech, fintech, and consumer tech. The new Director will manage a team of strategists and work directly with C-Suite Executives at venture capital funds and high-growth start-ups. This person needs to excel in developing communications strategy, planning, reporting, and engaging with existing clients, as well as play an active role in new business efforts, including but not limited to growing the Firm internationally.

The Bevel culture is passionate, transparent and driven to deliver exceptional results. The company is structured like a consultancy, similar to Bain or McKinsey, and does not adopt a traditional agency model. We like to hire a diverse set of candidates and most do not have a background in PR or within the industries we play in.

Responsibilities
  • Build the client base and maintain strong relationships with existing clients
  • Negotiate new business opportunities and contracts
  • Work with the CEO on a strategy for international expansion and establishment of a fund
  • Write, edit and proofread materials ensuring quality and consistency
  • Prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and complete them on time
  • Strong media relations and ability to drive thought leadership campaigns
  • Help develop strategic recommendations addressing challenges and opportunities for clients and prospects
  • Support day-to-day communications program execution
  • Mentoring junior staff
Qualifications
  • 8 - 10+ years of previous PR/marketing or experience at a fintech/tech/VC firm
  • Intellectually curious

  • Excellent writing skills; experience crafting pitches, releases, contributed articles preferred but not required
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, strong organizational and multitasking skills and exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Ability to drive and consistently meet deadlines is a must
  • Strong strategic-thinking skills, and the ability to handle and manage stressful situations
  • Creative, out-of-the-box thinker
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree; Master’s/MBA preferred
