On Wednesday, October 21st, we hosted our third ‘Bevel, Books and Bourbon’ virtual book club meeting. Here, we gathered the industry’s top journalists and editors, founders, CEOs, and investors for an engaging conversation with Chris Schembra, founder of the 7:47 Club and bestselling author. Chris took us through an intimate gratitude dinner experience and shared lessons from his book, “Gratitude and Pasta: The Secret Sauce to Human Connection,” In addition to sparking over 500,000 relationships around the dining table, Chris has given a TED Talk on empathy that comes in the wake of life and destruction.
‘Bevel, Books and Bourbon’ is an intimate, invite-only experience for authors, founders, executives and the media to connect via shared experiences. The club formed at the onset of the pandemic, when company-sponsored Zoom happy hours were already running dry.
“It’s not always easy to remember to practice gratitude in the midst of a pandemic, when so many people have lost loved ones, their jobs, and are struggling with mental health issues. We wanted to give our clients the opportunity to pause and take a moment to connect with those around them in an open, meaningful and thoughtful way,” said Jessica Schaefer, founder and CEO of Bevel. “We’re always thinking of ways to build meaningful relationships for our network.”
The Bevel team is known for its bold thinking; exclusive, invite-only events for the media as well as clients, and its elite network. Hopefully, in the New Year, we’ll get to see our members in-person!
We hope you’ll join us for our next book club! Email firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
